Volunteers
If you’re looking to be part of a caring and dedicated team that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of others, we invite you to consider volunteering with the Belleville Pregnancy and Family Care Centre.
Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. The compassion, commitment, and kindness they bring help create a safe and supportive environment for the individuals and families we serve. Together, we form a community of care-givers whose presence truly changes lives.
-
Because of the nature of our work, most volunteer roles require a minimum commitment of one year. Volunteers are asked to recognize the inherent value and dignity of every human life and to approach each person with respect, hope, and compassion.
Many of the individuals we serve have experienced difficult or traumatic circumstances. As volunteers, it’s essential to remain non-judgmental, supportive, and understanding while offering practical help and encouragement.
-
We welcome volunteers to support the Centre in a variety of ways, including client support, administrative assistance, program support, and practical help behind the scenes.
Training is provided for any role involving direct contact with clients, and ongoing support is available to help volunteers feel confident and prepared.
Some volunteer roles include:
• Client support and mentoring
• Program and group support
• Administrative and reception assistance
• Community education support
• Special events and fundraising -
We are pleased to partner with area colleges and educational institutions to offer practicum placements for students. Practicum students gain hands-on experience, meaningful client interaction, and insight into compassionate, community-based care.
Many students choose to continue volunteering after completing their practicum, while others carry this valuable experience into their future careers. Supporting individuals during a time of crisis can be a life-shaping and rewarding experience.
