What to Expect at Your Appointment

Coming to the Belleville Pregnancy and Family Care Centre for the first time can feel like a big step, especially if you’re feeling uncertain or anxious. Our goal is to make you feel safe, comfortable, and cared for from the moment you arrive.

  • When you come in, you’ll be greeted by a caring volunteer or staff member who will welcome you and explain what to expect. You’ll be asked to complete a short, confidential intake form to help us understand how we can best support you.

  • A trained client advocate will meet with you and you’ll have the opportunity to take a free, self-administered pregnancy test in a private washroom. Once you’ve completed the test, your client advocate can discuss your results, answer your questions, and provide information about your options. Everything shared during your visit is confidential.

  • No matter what your test results are, we’re here to support you. We can talk about your next steps, connect you with community resources, and provide emotional and practical support. Whether you choose to continue your pregnancy, explore adoption, or are simply not sure yet, you will be met with kindness and respect.

  • You are welcome to bring a friend, partner, or family member if that makes you feel more comfortable. We want your experience to be as supportive as possible.

  • You’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions and learn about other free programs available through the Centre, including parenting classes, prenatal support, and post-abortion care.

You are not alone in this. We’re here to listen, to care, and to help you take the next step with confidence.
